The grand finale for the Art Matters – A Tall Story Project will be held this Friday 2 December.
As part of the celebrations for International Day of People with a Disability, the artists will be performing at the following two events:
- 10-2pm at the Sound Shell – Jaypex Park Nhill (Performance at 10.30am) and
- 6-10pm at Axis Worx in Horsham, 134 Golf Course Rd, Horsham (as part of a Christmas themed Disco with Disco commencing at 7pm)
The group has been hard at work since July constructing large puppets under the premise of creating a gigantic tale of super powers achieving the super impossible.
The project has been facilitated by local visual artist Anthony Pelchen, dance artist Amy Anselmi and videographic artist David Bowe with special guest artists Mary French from Natimuk and Trevor Flinn from Dunkeld. Other groups supporting the artists are from Cooinda in Nhill, Woodbine in Warracknabeal and Grahams Bridge Road in Horsham.
The Art Matters Tall Story project was made possible by the Australian Governments Regional Arts Fund, which gives all Australians wherever they live, better access to opportunities to practise and experience the arts. The Regional Arts Fund is administered in Victoria by Regional Arts Victoria.
Art Matters is a Horsham Rural City Council initiative. The Art Matters Tall Story project is also supported through Wimmera Rural Access, Wimmera Health Care Group, Wimmera Uniting Care, Cooinda, and Woodbine.
