Biography

Carolynne is an arts administrator and enabler who has worked with local government, state agencies, community groups and community enterprises. Connecting people meaningfully through the arts is at the heart of her work.

She has worked as an educator, community arts facilitator and event producer in her home town of Natimuk and Horsham in western Victoria and has worked closely with local government to influence the social and cultural opportunities for people living in that part of Victoria. This has been achieved through supporting the development of arts infrastructure including festivals, boards and officer roles in local council.

In 2005, she completed a three year stint as Manager at the Warmun Indigenous Arts Centre at Turkey Creek in the Kimberley, curating up to 15 exhibitions per year to Germany, Korea and across Australia and generating an annual turn over of $1.2 million. The centre developed education programs for its emerging artists that built on the traditions of its older artists- Rover Thomas, Jack Britten and Queenie McKenzie.

Upon returning to Victoria, Carolynne has consulted and worked with VicHealth, Regional Arts Victoria, local councils, a regional Catchment Management Authority, Indigenous Health providers and education services, primarily exploring how the arts can be used a tool to make impactful, sustainabe and meaningful change in regional communities.

She currently works as a freelance arts and project facilitator, particularly focussed on improving regional & remote communities access to services intergrating wherever possible engagement in the arts.
