Don't miss the opportunity to be part of Art Matters third project - The Island!

Art Matters

What is on offer?

On the back of a very successful 2016, which saw Art Matters undertake two projects – “The Collective Swab” and “A Tall Story Project” – the group will now launch “The Island”. The project will see two utilitarian objects, industrial pallets and wheelie bins, used in an innovative way. Industrial pallets will be transformed into a series of personalised islands which will become a series of individualised art objects, performance spaces and film sets for a wheelie bin Camera Obscura to create a photographic exhibition, performance moments and screened outcomes.

The  Art Matters series provides ongoing meaningful arts participation for adults living with a disability for whom there are no other arts opportunities offered in the Wimmera region. The project will continue to be supported by local visual artist Anthony Pelchen, dance artist Amy Anselmi and videographic artist David Bowe and this year introduces Arts Access Victoria artist Rhian Hingklys’ Camera Obscura practice.

”The Island” will commence on Monday 6 March from 4-6pm at Jubilee Hall. For enquiries, please contact Jillian Pearce, Community Development Officer at Horsham Rural City Council at
