Running from October 10-14, Artlands is committed to supporting regional artists in the development of their creative practice by ensuring there are opportunities for collaborations between emerging, established and community artists to create engaged works in accessible environments. Artists, audiences, venues, businesses and communities will be offered a national platform to present what’s unique and compelling about our regional culture, fostering contemporary and innovative regional cultural practice, building capacity and developing leadership.
To ensure representatives from your community are able to take advantage of this opportunity, Regional Arts Victoria are once again delivering an Artlands Travel Grant program, and inviting you to participate.
For each Artlands (most recently in 2016 in Dubbo), Regional Arts Victoria manages an Artlands Travel Grants of $1,000 towards registration fees, travel and accommodation costs associated with Victorian regional artist attendance at the conference. Local Government Authorities are invited to contribute to the program to ensure local artists from their community are able to attend.
Regional Arts Victoria manages the administrative process for these grants. Participating Local Government Authorities have their contributions acknowledged on all marketing materials, and they share any acquittals, reflections or reports from the event by recipients with you following the event.
Artlands is being hosted in Victoria for the first time in 14 years, and Regional Arts Victoria want all of Victoria to be a part of it. It is a fantastic professional development opportunity for regionally- based Victorian artists, art makers and arts workers. Participants will benefit from being a part of a national conference and play an active role in wider discussions about regional arts practice within a professionally managed arts gathering.
