Ararat Rural City Council
Ararat is a large regional centre 198 kilometres north-west of Melbourne in the heart of Victoria.
Strategically located at an important junction of several major highways, the city is a logical stopping off point for tourists exploring the nearby Grampians Ranges and Grampians Pyrenees wine regions.
The Public Galleries Association of Victoria is a membership organisation supporting public galleries across Victoria through networking, advocacy, education, promotion, and administration of the Robert Salzer Foundation grant program. The Arts Industry Council of Victoria (AICV) is the State’s independent voice for the arts. AICV was established as a non-profit peak body in 1989 to enable all sectors of arts activity in Victoria to speak with a common voice. Our membership includes individual practitioners and arts organisations ranging from small independent companies to large state cultural institutions.
Arts Law Centre of Australia have a series of checklists and guides covering legal issues arts practitioners should be aware of in certain situations. The checklists canvas business partnerships, music management, music publishing, organising a festival or gallery representation. Arts Law guides cover booking gigs, digital publication of visual art, recording agreements, short film competitions and sponsorship agreements.
